Sometimes, you want to stay a little more up to date with what is going on on discourse, here are a few ways to do that.
Increasing Digest Frequency
Discourse is smart. Whenever you haven’t been active on the site for a while, discourse will send you a digest email with the most important/active things that have been going on. You can configure the frequency of these emails in your profile settings:
Then head to the email section and change the frequency for the digests:
(you can also choose, to receive the digest even if you have been active on the forum there)
Get an email for every new topic
Within the same section, you can also chose to “receive an email every time a post is made on the forum”. Attention, this can be quite noisy:
Follow Categories
A less noisy way to stay informed in the things you do care about is by following only specific categories. You can do that by the way described here or by just navigating to the category and changing the notification level on the top right. By saying “watching” you will receive an email on every new topic created in that category:
