Hi everybody!
On 8th and 9th of November there will be Flossie Conf in London - A Conf. about woman a software libre http://www.flossie.org/
And we, as OTS, will be there!
We will run 2 workhsop - Python (90min) and Html/css (60min).
Each workshop will be up to 10/15 learners so not so big but is an important chance for us to make London knows about OTS
We are currently looking for a coaches! (better if they could coach in both workshop, but not necessary) in London (or maybe willing to fly there).
If you want, have a contact or know someone willing to coach there, please write here or to me.
The material is already ready, needs maybe just some adjustment.
cool thats exciting!
is there a blog post or something looking for coaches in london or how are you promoting it?
i can retweet and ask around,i know a couple of people there, maybe some of 'em can help spread the word.
nice job coordinating this!
There is no strict teaching involved, coaches are just around to answer questions from learners as they go through the tutorials by themselves.
It’s literally volunteering.
Hi @vikkiread! Yes, we are still looking for coaches and if you can help with both that’s amazing!
Are you from London, isn’t it?
Do you attend the Conference by your self or you need a ticket?
If you have any question about the material or about anything else, just ask
OK, ace Is there anything I need to do before the day? I think I’ve seen the material before ( I may have done a workshop based on it as well, but not sure), and I’m pretty familiar with css/js/html/python, but don’t know if there’s anything I need to do?
no, nothing in particular. Just be ready
Coaching at OTS isn’t really about be a teacher. Usually in our workshops people arrive, start to read the material we prepared for them and if they are stack we are there for help them.
So is more be around, be aware if someone is in need (lot of people are to shine for ask lot of questions but we are actually there for this reason, right? ), always help people while smiling and be patient.

Hi everybody!
Sorry for getting back so late but I had some stuff to work on in these days.
I wanna thank all of you for coming, was a great sessions of workshops even if there were not so many people. But that was also the reason why many learners have a very good feedback from the workshops.
You all did a very great job and thank you for spending your free time there.
The conference was nice in general, very friendly atmosphere and lot of people were asking when will be the next workshop or where they can find OTS again in London.
We also already have at least 3 people interest in start an OpenTechSchool in London so please if you are also interest on it, let me know and I will include you as well in the organizer list/discourse post.
I hope to see you all again somewhere in the world!
Best,
Gio
